Meet the owners
Meet the husband and wife team behind Platito by Mangan – Kevin Tuvera and Eunicke Tilde-Tuvera.
In March 2025, Kevin and Eunicke opened the doors to their cozy Filipino restaurant in Belfast, driven by a shared dream: to bring the bold, vibrant flavors of the Philippines to Northern Ireland in the most authentic way possible.
Kevin is the heart of the kitchen — a passionate chef who’s spent most of his professional life honing his culinary craft. From running his own catering business back in the Philippines to working as a line cook in a 4-star hotel in Austin, Texas, and later continuing his journey in kitchens in fast food and care homes, Kevin has always been drawn to cooking. It’s more than a job for him — it’s a calling.
Eunicke is the welcoming face you’ll meet when you walk through the door. With a background in sales and a natural gift for connecting with people, she brings warmth, energy, and hospitality to every guest’s experience. Her bright, bubbly personality makes Platito feel like home for everyone who visits.
Their culinary journey in Northern Ireland began with their handcrafted longganisa (Filipino-style sausages), which quickly developed a loyal following. Encouraged by the success of their sausage business, they took a leap of faith — leaving their full-time jobs to open Platito by Mangan. It took time to find the perfect spot, but once they did, they poured their hearts into bringing their vision to life.
Today, their mission remains clear: to stay true to their roots and make Filipino cuisine known and loved in Belfast and beyond. At Platito, every dish is a celebration of their heritage — crafted with love, tradition, and a whole lot of flavor

We are proud to announce that Platito by Mangan has been awarded the McKenna’s Guide Best in Ireland 2026 plaque. It was a privilege to welcome John and Sally McKenna—two of the most respected and influential food writers in Ireland—to our establishment. To not only host them but to be recognised with one of their esteemed plaques is an honour we hold in the highest regard. The McKenna’s plaque stands as one of the most significant marks of excellence in Irish contemporary food and hospitality. This recognition is especially meaningful as John and Sally celebrate the 30th anniversary of the very first Best in Ireland plaque, marking three decades of championing the finest in Irish food and hospitality through their publications and guidance.
To be included on this distinguished list in our very first year of trading is both humbling and deeply rewarding—a milestone that fills us with pride and gratitude.
